Meet the Acupuncturist (& family)
Dr. Samantha Burris, DAc., L.Ac is a licensed acupuncturist of New York State and is currently working to receive her Diplomate (NCCAOM) in Acupuncture. Samantha received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Keuka College in 2013. After spending time on a spiritual exploration at Shambahla Meditation Center in Red Feather Lakes, CO (2013), she discovered Acupuncture and the powerful connection acupuncture & meditation had on health and healing. Samantha returned from the retreat, enrolled in Acupuncture school and began her journey.
Samantha went on to complete a Bachelors of Science in Professional Studies and her Masters of Science in Acupuncture in 2017 from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (FLSAOM), an affiliate of New York Chiropractic College (currently known as Northeast College of Health Sciences) in Seneca Falls, NY. Samantha received her Certificate of Chinese Herbal Medicine from WON Institute of Graduate Studies in Warminster, PA in 2023. Samantha is a 2024 graduate of the Doctorate of Acupuncture program at the WON Institute.
Samantha’s experience includes working with patients of all ages and a variety of conditions. These include, musculoskeletal pains, pregnancy and infertility, anxiety and depression, menopausal symptoms, migraines and headaches, gastrointestinal complications, and a many other conditions. Samantha brings clinical training experience from multiple locations, including the Seneca Falls Health Center, NYCC Campus Health Center, Rochester Outpatient Health Center, and Canandaigua Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, WON Institute’s Outpatient Clinic with a focus on Chinese Herbal Medicine and hand’s on dispensary work. Samantha’s specialties include, but are not limited to, women’s health and pain management.
As a native of the area, Samantha strives to provide exceptional health care for patients of all ages. She provides a variety of services based on the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine along with the incorporation of modern science to provide each patient an individualized treatment plan tailored to their needs.
Samantha lives in Elmira, NY with her husband, Chris, son, Connor, and daughter, Carsyn. They spend much of their time being outdoors, hiking, running and walking, playground hopping, and enjoying the scenery of the Finger Lakes region.
